Frequently Asked Questions

Online therapy and coaching services for individuals and couples across Idaho.

Do you offer online therapy in Idaho?

Yes! I provide therapy and coaching services entirely online for clients anywhere in Idaho—including Boise, Meridian, and rural communities. Sessions are held via secure video.

Do you offer virtual coaching outside of Idaho?

Yes! Coaching is available to clients in any location.

NOTE: Coaching is intended to help an individual through life transitions, changing poor behaviors, personal growth, etc. Issues such as clinical anxiety, depression, and other diagnosable mental health issues should be addressed in Counseling and not through Coaching. If you as an individual have received a mental health diagnosis in the past you may still benefit from coaching depending on the state of your prior diagnosis, and having the understanding that Coaching is not intended to be a part of clinical treatment to any diagnosis.

How frequently are sessions held?

The frequency in which we meet is usually discussed in our first session. Typically, I suggest meeting weekly to begin with to help get some momentum in the process but we can certainly adjust to what meets your needs.

Do you see children?

While I have quite a bit of experience working with children, I typically do not work with anyone under the age of 13. I do have some exceptions to this so if you are interested in therapy for your child who is younger than 13 years old, feel free to reach out and we can discuss options.

Do you accept insurance?

I do not directly bill insurance. Insurance companies require some information about your treatment in order to payout so by not billing insurance you have an increase in your privacy. If you would like, I can provide you with a super bill for you to submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network benefits.

How long are sessions?

Sessions are typically about 50-60 minutes in length. A longer intensieve session, often for couples, can be scheduled a head of time with a corresponding rate.

What modality do you use?

I have completed level one in the EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy) training for working with couples. This is the approach in use in couples therapy. For individuals, I try to assess what may be most helpful to them based on what issues they are dealing with and what their personality is. I often use family systems theory, mindfulness practices, and psychoanalytic theory.

Do you offer faith-based counseling/therapy?

Yes, I do. I believe we are a body, mind, and soul, and each part is affected by the things we go through in life. Having faith to help you get through the things you are struggling with can be a tremendous asset and that can absolutely be a part of our work.

How long will I need to stay in therapy?

I do not believe that therapy should be a long-term commitment. While there is no specific time frame, and it certainly varies for each person, my approach is to get to the core of your struggle and get you moving forward in life.

Do you offer pre-marital counseling?

Yes, I do! I would be happy to help you and your fiance dive into the complexities of marriage and relationships to help you start your life together on stable and secure footing. Email me with questions to get scheduled!
